Born in the United Kingdom and brought up in Wales, Sian Poeschl has a BA, PGCE and MFA. She has been an exhibitor at the Sawdust Art Festival in Laguna Beach since 2000 . Poeschl has undertaken many residential and corporate commissions and installations, and she has been a featured artist on Home and Garden Television. Sian's work has been acknowledged with awards at the Sawdust Art Festival and the Beverly Hills "Affaire in the Garden."
Poeschl looks at glass as a palette of colors playing with light to produce unique and vibrant paintings. It goes beyond utilitarian objects to the scope of the fine art. To work with glass means to continually experiment, to push its boundaries, to never be content with previous work, but to always seek creative solutions for future installations. This philosophy is a central point for all of her work.
Poeschl became fascinated with glass in the early 1990’s by its fluidity and motion. Inspired by many of the leading glass artists, she wanted to find her own technique and expression. Following a two year apprenticeship and years of experimentation, Sian feels she is well along on her journey.
