Artist Bio:
Aaron grew up at the elbow of his Master-Craftsman father, learning everything there is to know in a workshop and salvaging scraps of acrylic to make sculptures in secret. (An amusing family anecdote: His psychically gifted mother was so certain that she was carrying an artist they she gave him the initials A.R.T.) A prodigy and an early entrepreneur, he started drafting for Architects while still in his early teens. Later apprenticeships with Designers and Artists included Charles Hollis Jones and Ron Chespak. In addition to designing, engineering and building his high-end one-of-a-kind furniture for boutique hotels and private collectors, Aaron is an accomplished sculptor in many media and a painter. He is best known for his intensely colorful non- representational acrylic sculptures. Aaron creates his large abstract oil paintings by channeling his vivacious spirit in what could almost be described as a spiritual dance with a paintbrush in each hand. One current project which is very dear to him is a life-sized stainless steel stylized cherry blossom tree which he welded. Aaron is constantly experimenting and testing new materials and methods to push the boundaries of what is possible in Art, consulting with other experts such as a NASA Engineer at times for advice on space-age materials and as of yet un-invented techniques. His “Rocket Chair” made of Acrylic and Titanium Rocket Engine parts was featured in the January 2009 issue of Coast Magazine.
